What kind of church is Evangel?

Evangel church is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, and exists to bring people to receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour and to become Spirit filled believers whose life priority is to honour and serve Christ. Our mission is to bring people of all ages and backgrounds to an intimate personal relationship with the living God. Our vision is to become a caring community of Spirit-filled believers, impacting our world and bringing people to wholeness in Christ. To see this happen, we focus on five key areas of the Christian life:

Worship: Loving God and ministering to Him through creative worship, making meaningful prayer a priority and highly valuing the anointing of God.

Friendship: being caring believers reaching out, connecting with others adn meeting needs.

Discipleship: growing to maturity and fruitfulness by learning the Word of God, applying it to our lives, and leading others to do the same.

Ministry: each person recognizing their worth, using their spiritual gifts, and faithfully serving in the life and ministry of the church.

Missions: personally being part of the Great Commission by proclaiming and living out the Gospel both here in our community adn as the Lord enables on mission fields around the world.

Our Statement of Faith:
What is being built?

The 16,000 square foot ministry centre currently under way is what we believe will be only the beginning of our use for this site.  The building will be all on one level, except for a basement storage area, so stairs will not be an issue for anyone.  A large foyer will welcome all into the facility and will provide easy access to the rest of the building.  The main seating area is a multi-purpose room that can seat up to 500 and can be reconfigured for music events, banquets, medium and large meetings as well as youth and children’s activities.

Another smaller fellowship hall is also multi-purpose and will serve the needs of smaller groups, social events, children and youth programs.  These two areas are connected by a spacious kitchen. Pastors’ offices, general office, library and smaller classrooms are included, as is nursery and child care facilities.

The building will lend itself to expansion in the future with the possibility of a larger dedicated sanctuary, an education wing, another small to medium sized hall and a larger office complex.

With the trees bordering Joyce Avenue being left in place, and an outdoor amphitheater excavated, we envision being able to hold outdoor events ranging from Sunday services to Friday night youth concerts.  With room for a ball field, the opportunities to hold events that the public can be invited to are endless.
